Emergency Dentistry
Even if we try our best to avoid them, emergencies do happen.
Here at Gateway Dental Care, we understand that emergencies do happen so that is why we always reserve emergency slots during the day so that we can always see you that day.
A Dental Emergency can range from a raging toothache, swelling, a broken tooth, lost crown, a knocked-out tooth or Broken Dentures.
If you have a Dental Emergency, please give us a call right away on (02) 9979 7070 so we can book you in as soon as possible.
Depending on the emergency there are several things you can do to help lessen the severity.
If you are feeling any kind of pain, painkillers such as Ibuprofen and paracetamol or a staggered combination of both are recommended, but do not exceed the stated dose.
If you have lost a crown it should be re-cemented quickly to avoid damage or the possible need for root canal therapy.
Any Knocked out teeth should be re-implanted into the tooth root in the event of a knocked-out tooth. You can either place the tooth in cold milk, or on one side of the mouth between teeth and check.
Whatever you do, do not place the tooth in water.
Broken Dentures are usually an easy fix, but please do not try to glue them back together yourself as that will often make the repair difficult.
We provide the following emergency dentistry services.
